Verna Gao is a London-based content creator and influencer, known as @vernahungrybanana to over half a million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Born in Shanghai in the 1990s, Verna moved to London as a child following her parents' divorce. Speaking very little English, Verna used cooking as a means of staying connected to her Chinese heritage following her move to the UK.
