KAARON WARREN IN CONVERSATION WITH LAVIE TIDHAR

FREE EVENT
Award-winning Australian spec-fic author Kaaron Warren sits down with UK-based author and editor Lavie Tidhar at GALAXY in August to discuss Kaaron's recent releases THE UNDERHISTORY and CALVARIA FELL. We make no promises, but Lavie might also be able to tell us about his upcoming novel SIX LIVES (HB due December 2024, PB due January 2025).

ABOUT THE BOOKS

The Underhistory by Kaaron Warren is described as "A dark and magnificently inventive upmarket thriller about the lengths a lone woman will go to protect her home, and the family history it hides within its walls."

Calvaria Fell is a stunning collaborative collection of weird tales from two acclaimed authors, Kaaron Warren and Cat Sparks. It features previously published stories from both authors, along with a new novella by Kaaron Warren and four new stories by Cat Sparks.

The collection offers a glimpse into a chilling future world that is similar to our own. Readers will be drawn into experiences at once familiar and bizarre, where our choices have far-reaching consequences and the environment is a force to be reckoned with.

Lavie Tidhar burst onto the scene with the alternate history steampunk mystery trilogy The Bookman Histories, followed by one-shots Osama, A Man Lies Dreaming and The Circumference of the World, among many others. More recently, he has been curating and sharing The Best World SF in the anthology series of that name.

In the forthcoming Six Lives, six lives, connected through blood and history spanning the 19th to 21st centuries, each rooted in the dirt of their inheritance, look to the future, and what it might hold.

BOOK LAUNCH: RECLAIMED BY SETH HADDON

FREE EVENT
Seth Haddon immediately wowed readers with REFORGED, the first in his queer romantasy series. After being drawn in by the political intrigue, betrayal, violence and its slow burn second chance romance, they came back for more in REBORN and were not disappointed.

Return to the fantasy world of REFORGED with RECLAIMED, in which a scholar is to be imprisoned for the malfunction of a device he created, that resulted in the devastation of a district in the city. His captor becomes less certain of his guilt and wonder if he's the scapegoat of a larger plot.

As with Seth's previous releases, if you preorder your copy from GALAXY, you'll receive bonus limited edition swag from Seth.

ABOUT THE BOOKS

Saba Vasili, a scholar of the astral sea, faces a harrowing accusation: an arcane device he designed has malfunctioned and an entire district of the city has been obliterated and a foreign dignitary has been killed. Charged with murder, Saba is incarcerated on the orders of Byrengrad's ruling council, the Triad.

Ambassador Luan Zek of the Rezwyn Empire is dispatched to take custody of the alleged murderer of his countryman. But seeing Saba's pathetic state, Zek questions whether Saba is truly guilty or only the Triad's scapegoat.

With Byrengrad's fate in the balance, Saba and Zek must uncover the truth behind the arcane catastrophe and stop the malfunctioning device that is jeopardising the fabric of their whole world. Can one act of compassion save the worlds?
