Australians know all about a pub crawl, but how about a book crawl? Your favourite local bookshops have joined a new international initiative, GLOBAL BOOK CRAWL, and you’re invited to take part in the fun!
What is the Global Book Crawl?
The Global Book Crawl was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to unite independent bookshops worldwide in a celebration of local literature, community, and culture.
Starting on April 21 and running for a week, Global Book Crawl is a worldwide celebration of independent bookshops and those who love them. Readers, writers, and booksellers join forces for one week to create a tapestry of neighbourhood strolls and unforgettable encounters.
The Global Book Crawl is an adventure through the heart of a city’s or region's local bookshops. Participants visit multiple shops, connecting with the local book culture and discovering hidden gems. Using your GBC (Global Book Crawl) Passport, collect a stamp at every bookshop you visit, and be in the running to win book prize packs or gift vouchers.
Mark Rubbo, Readings Chairman and Global Book Crawl Australian organiser, says, “From Blackheath to Mornington, Australia's bookshops are community hubs and places of discovery. How it Works
Each city or region curates its crawl: a self-guided route through independent bookshops.
The heart of the Global Book Crawl is the joy of discovery: wandering through bookstores, getting lost in conversations, and finding titles you didn’t know you needed.
Visit two bookshops or twenty... and you’re part of something much bigger.

HOW TO TAKE PART
• Get your passport stamped at a minimum of two participating shops, then hand it in at the last one you visit to enter the draw to win 50 books selected by Sydney booksellers.
• Join your tribe. There are also limited-edition Sydney Book Crawl tote bags available, while stocks last.
