Dr. Motahhir acquired practical/industry expertise as an Embedded System Engineer at Zodiac Aerospace Morocco, where he worked from 2014 to 2019. In his role, he was involved in the development of UC/OS-II based embedded software using C and Model-Based Design (Scade), embedded software testing, and validation of embedded software requirements and architecture. He worked with various tools and standards (such as IBM RTRT, SCADE, IBM Synergy/Change, SlickEdit, Trace 32, Diab, DO-178 B/C, and V-Cycle) and his expertise extended to Power PC (MPC 5566) with applications in aircraft such as Boeing 777x, E2 Embraer, A320 NEO, and Bombardier G7000. Recently transitioning to academia, Dr. Motahhir is now a Full Professor at École Nationale des Sciences Appliquées, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Fez, Morocco. He earned an engineering degree in Embedded Systems in 2014 and a PhD in Electrical Engineering in 2018, both from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University. Dr. Motahhir holds multiple patents registered with the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. He is also an accomplished book editor and has served as a guest editor for different special issues and topical collections. Dr. Motahhir actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer or as a member of various journals’ editorial boards; additionally, he holds the position of Conference Co-chair for the International Conference on Digital Technologies and Applications and is a member of the Arab Youth Center Council. Mamdouh El Haj Assad is a Professor in the Department of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineering, University of Sharjah, Sharjah, UAE. He was previously an Associate Professor at the Australian College of Kuwait, and a Researcher at Aalto University, Finland. Prof. El Haj Assad’s research interests include thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy conversion systems, and photovoltaics.
