Where I Come From is an inspiring must read for children that encourages them to think, imagine and ask questions about history and their own heritage.

Where I Come From is a loving way to introduce the difficult topic of slavery, while planting seeds of self esteem.

Inspired by the poem Memories of a People; Where I Come From brings to life the unacknowledged contributions of the formerly enslaved.

Rendered in colorful portraits, Where I Come From opens a window for the reader to see a new way to embrace the legacy and heritage of a people whose triumphant stories are our stories too.
