An assessment of the state of the world that isn’t ready to give up on optimism, by one of today’s most influential analysts.

Even in these tumultuous times of political polarization and social upheaval, analyst Moisés Naím remains a shrewd observer of our world. What Is Happening to Us? is a selection of columns dating back to 2016 (in Spain, they are published in El País) in which he takes a calm and analytical approach to contemporary problems.

Their scope is truly global: from the rise of Trump and Bolsonaro to COVID-19, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Israel-Palestine conflict. One after another, these pieces offer a battery of indispensable insights for building a more prosperous, free and just future.
