Melanie Futorian is the author of Don Alias, Stories of a Legendary Percussionist, available on Amazon, at the Boston Public Library and the Berklee College of Music Library. Her book was listed on the WGBH 24/7 Jazz Booklist. She had her own column in AllAboutJazz.com, Jazzespresso.com and has written feature articles for Dance Teacher Magazine. She received an honorable mention from Miami's Emerging Writer Fellowship for her novel Rub. Her play Mel's Kitchen, will be produced Off Broadway. Melanie has received many awards for her iPhone films, which were selected for numerous international and national festivals. She is a professional choreographer, an audio/video engineer for the United Nations and a photographer for major New York dance companies. She received 2 Grammy Certificates for her CD photography. Bobcat was adopted from a rescue shelter during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, he has starred in the iPhone films Mel & Bobcat and What If, which were selected into international and national festivals including The New York Cat Festival. He recieved many festival awards. Bobcat was Newsweek's Pet of The Week and was also featured on Pettable's Instagram page. He enjoys catnip, birdwatching and lots of cuddling. This is Bobcat's first book with Melanie.
