Melody L. Seaton was born in Jackson, MI and was brought to Chicago, IL at six months of age. Her primary and secondary education was in the Chicago Public Schools with the exception of two years in high school. Melody received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of IL Chicago Circle Campus and continued her education journey earning a Master of Arts in Administration & Supervision and a Master of Divinity from Governor State University and McCormick Theological Seminary. Melody is a retired educator who served as a teacher and administrator over a period of thirty-eight years. She is a mother of two and grandmother to six and is spending post-retirement as a church planter ordained in the United Church of Christ.
