Lester Morris is Australia's longest-serving, and probably the most published, specialist motorcycle writer in the country, with most of his peers considering him to be 'iconic', or even 'legendary'.

His first articles, on simple maintenance and safety, were published in REVS Motorcycle News (paper) in 1968; followed for the next 50 years by test reports of new models, Classic motorcycles, race reports, and a series of humorous columns published in eighteen of Australia's top-selling motorcycle magazines.

From 1948 he spent over 20 years in the trade; his first book, Motorcycling in Australia , published by McMillan in 1976. Lester is also a noted race commentator, often featuring as an expert motorcycle compere on 'Torque', a 1970's National TV Motoring program.

Vintage Morris: Tall Tales but True from a Lifetime in Motorcycling, Volume 2 is just that, a memoir of his 'many-and-various' - and often hilarious - experiences in the fascinating motorcycle industry.

For some 50 years, his material has been published in more than 18 of Australia's leading, specialist motorcycle publications, which include numerous magazines and motorcycles newspapers. He spent 20 years in the trade, behind spare parts and/or accessory counters in five major motorcycles stores, one of which was his own. He founded his own Motorcycle Learner Training Scheme, which bore his name and was the first of its type for training 'civilian' motorcyclists. Other training schemes were for Police and Army dispatch riders.

Reviews for Vintage Morris: Tall Tales but True from a Lifetime in Motorcycling, Volume 2

"""You don't need to have any interest in motorcycles to enjoy this book, although it will help you to understand some of the events Lester describes. You'll find yourself immersed in a different and very funny time, and - let's face it - we can all do with some of that. Peter ""The Bear"" Thoeming Editor Emeritus, Australian MOTORCYCLIST Magazine"
