I was ecstatic when I found out there was going to be a spinoff of Daughter of the Pirate King and I could not wait to see how Levenseller would expand on this fantastic world that she had created throughout the original duology. This time she tells the story of Sorinda, an unfeeling assassin who's quite at home in a murderously dysfunctional environment. Forced out of the shadows when she must take on her new role of Captain, we see Sorinda transform as she takes on the responsibility of being a leader and as she overcomes the many trials she faces on this perilous journey across the seas. Levenseller has created a wonderful world filled with unimaginable sea monsters and deadly pirates, non-stop adventures and a classic slow burn romance.
