Dr. Dipanwita Dutta is Assistant Professor in the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, Vidyasagar University (India). She completed her M. Sc. in Geography from the University of Calcutta and obtained her second M. Sc. degree in Remote Sensing and GIS under a joint collaboration program of Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente (The Netherlands), and Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun (India). She was Senior Research Fellow at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa and received her Ph. D. degree from the Jamia Millia Islamia in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. Her broad area of research includes vegetation dynamics, agricultural drought, dryland issues, crop monitoring, land-use dynamics, urban green space. Dr. Dutta has published in reputed international journals. She has also edited one book published by CRC Press/ Taylor and Francis and published 12 chapters in national and international books. Dr. Arnab Kundu?is a Faculty member in the Department of Geo-Informatics at P.R.M.S. Mahavidyalaya, Bankura University (India). Before joining there, he was working as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at DST-Mahamana Centre of Excellence in Climate Change Research, Banaras Hindu University (India). He holds an M. Sc. in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation from the University of Twente (ITC), the Netherlands, and an M. Sc. degree in Geography from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata (India). He completed his Ph.D. (Technology) in GIS and Remote Sensing from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (ISRO), Dehradun (India). His main research interests are drought, desertification and dryland issues, application of geospatial techniques for environmental monitoring and management. Also, he works on multi-criteria decision-making methods in natural resources management. Dr. N. R. Patel, a senior scientist- Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, has 25 years’ experience with space applications in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. He obtained his Master's degree in Agronomy and Ph. D. in Agrometeorology and has received recognition in the field of agriculture and agrometeorology including the National award Hari OM Ashram Prerit Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Research Award for his contribution in the field of space applications to agrometeorology. He serves as council member/secretary/editor of professional scientific societies and is a Fellow of the Earth Science Foundation. An Associate Editor of the Journal of the Indian Society of Remote Sensing and Journal of Agrometeorology, he has more than 100 published papers in peer-reviewed International and National Journals. His specific research contribution is to promote space applications in the field of agrometeorology and provide new insights into regional monitoring, modeling, and assessment of Indian agro-ecosystems.
