"Jesus said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath. What did He mean? What does it mean for Christians today?

When the Pharisees were arguing with Jesus over Sabbath observance, Jesus had a surprising answer for them. ""For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."" (Matthew 12:8, MKJV) This is a huge statement! Jesus is declaring Himself as the owner and ruler of the Sabbath. The Sabbath was instituted for Him, and as we will see, even by Him. This book is dedicated to that reality, which is often misunderstood and neglected. The is much more to understand concerning this declaration!

This eBook expands on the extended meaning of those words. There is a huge prophetic significance as well! It is discussed in the following chapters:

At first, we need some background concerning the pre-existence of Jesus Christ, and Godly decisions decided on even before Adam and Eve.

In this chapter, we discover the plans God had for humankind from the beginning to rectify wayward humanity. He will not give up on us.

Now can look at Christ's first advent, His salvation, and how the weekly Sabbath also points to His millennial rule.

Chapter 4 goes into more detail concerning the prophetic significance of the Sabbath.

In chapter 5 is a closer look at the Last Days leading up to the return of Jesus Christ and the prophetic Sabbath Millenium.

Now we take a closer look into the seventh Millennium, the Sabbath rest promised, the rule of Jesus, and our potential future involvement!

Chapter 7 shows the final total victory of God and His Son, Jesus Christ, over all evil.

Chapter 8 discusses the move from Sabbath to Sunday in some early churches.

Chapter 9 deals with verses about the first day of the week and how that is misused.

Chapter 10 examines the notion that all days are alike and misunderstood scriptures.

Chapter 11 explains the New Covenant.

Finally, Chapter 12 further examines some misunderstood and misused verses.

The reader will now have a fuller understanding of the huge significance of what Jesus said. It has great implications for humankind! It touches on everything that has happened with the human race, and what will happen in the future."

Pieter C Voges grew up in Pretoria, South Africa, and graduated from Langenhoven High School. After studying at Pretoria Technicon and Pretoria University, a career at IBM followed. Attending various Christian churches allowed a growing understanding of the original Gospel message and a quest for complete Biblical understanding. This led to my appointment as a Pastor and Evangelist. A desire to share insight into the First Century Theology led to several books being written and recently converted to eBooks. More is in production.
