Peter Imray is an independent trainer, advisor and writer in the area of special educational needs.
I feel disposed towards a second edition of Turning the tables on Challenging Behaviour. The issues interrogated in the book remain of considerable importance within educational settings and their communities. There are only a few substantive sources for practitioners to draw upon in the field of SLD/PMLD and ASD. So I do feel that, with the suggested additions/amendments, the book should be given further opportunities to cement its position within a modest range of dedicated literature. Philip Garner, Professor of Education, The University of Northampton, School of Education A very practical and helpful book. Very readable, succinct and easy to understand. The author writes in a way that engages readers well and clearly draws on his own practical experience. I found it a useful book to direct new people for an inspiring read. Some of the material can be used for school-based training, especially the material on learners with PMLD and ASD/SLD Robert Ashdown, Co-editor Routledge Companion to Severe, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties; member of editorial team for PMLD Link; former headteacher of special school for pupils with SLD/PMLD (retired April 2013); former local authority Team-Teach trainer.
