Sophie McKenzie was a journalist and editor for many years before becoming a children’s book author. Her mother’s family lived through the Blitz, and Sophie has always wanted to write a story about it. She is the author of the hugely successful Luke and Eve trilogy (Six Steps to a Girl, Three’s a Crowd, The One and Only) Girl, Missing, which has won a Red House Children’s Book Award, a Richard and Judy Children’s Book Award in 2007 and three regional awards, and Blood Ties, winner of the Red House Children’s Book Award 2009. She lives in London with her son Joe.
