Raktima Basu is a physicist in the field of experimental condensed matter with a specialization in phase transition in correlated metal oxide nanostructures at extreme conditions (pressure and temperature) and their applications. At present, she is working as an assistant professor of physics at Magadh University, Bodhgaya, Bihar. She completed her M.Sc. in physics in 2014 from the University of Burdwan (ranked 2nd) and achieved her Ph.D. in 2020 from Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). She was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Student Award (2021) from HBNI, the Foundation Day ‘Best Thesis’ award of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), and the ‘Young Scientist Award’ (2018) from Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society, India. She was also awarded the National Post- Doctorate Fellowship, and she worked at the Department of Physical Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (2021– 2023), India. She also worked as a Research Associate II at the Surface Physics and Material Science Division, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India (2023– 2024). She received five best presentation awards at national and international conferences. So far, she has more than 27 publications in peer- reviewed international journals and conference proceedings. Sandip Dhara completed his Ph.D. in magneto- optic recording materials from the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, in 1994 and joined Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, in 1996. He is the Director of the Materials Science Group, IGCAR, and a Senior Professor at Homi Bhabha National Institute. He was an Associate Professor at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan (2007– 2008). He was also a visiting Professor at the University of Valencia, Spain; Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany; and the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. Dr. Dhara has more than 300 research publications, including several patents, review articles, books, book chapters, and conference proceedings. He has delivered more than 100 invited and plenary talks and is the recipient of the Homi Bhabha Gold Medal Award 2019 and the Department of Atomic Energy- Scientific Research Council (DAE- SRC) Outstanding Researcher Award for 2012. He is also on the editorial board of many national and international scientific journals. Dr. Dhara has specialized in studies of light- matter interaction at the nanoscale in the sub- diffraction limit. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics (FInstP), UK, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, London. He is also a Senior Member of Optica (old Optical Society of America).
