Nora Nickum leads conservation policy work for the Seattle Aquarium and writes articles and books for children about STEM and nature topics, including Superpod: Saving the Endangered Orcas of the Pacific Northwest (Chicago Review Press). Nora lives with her family on an island in Washington State, USA. Some of her favourite holes include ones on the beach where water may suddenly squirt up from a hidden clam. Robert Meganck is the illustrator of several award-winning nonfiction middle grade books and professor emeritus of communication arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA. He earned a BFA from the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, and an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He has received more than 300 regional, national, and international awards for his illustration and graphic design work. Robert loves the sharpeners with different-size holes so that no matter what size pencil is handy he can always draw with a point.
"""This book is not about nothing. In fact, it’s full of so many fascinating somethings. It not only helps us to look around at the world through learning about holes but while doing so, it encourages us to see with fresh eyes.
