Reviews for The Unlikely Spy

British intelligence has successfully uncovered all of the German agents sent into Britain. Those who have not been executed have been 'turned' and are manipulated by the Allies to deceive their masters. Not one has breached British security undetected, or so they thought. An unlikely source reveals the existence of 'sleeper' agents from an uncompromised German network. A game of cat and mouse ensues as the agents ain to steal the secret of the Allied invasion that could win the war for Germany, whilst MI5 desperately seeks to capture them. Careful strategy develops into a full blown and furious chase as the outcome of the war hangs in the balance. Silva has constructed an excellent spy thriller. Events are seen from various perspectives including the Allied and German military, the British secret service, various rival factions of the German intelligence service, civilian conscripts and innocent victims. An intelligently written spy novel, offering an interesting variety of content with a constantly shifting level of tension and empathy. (Kirkus UK)
