The three little pigs are appealing and the wolf agreeably wicked in Paul Galdone's colored illustrations for this winning picture-book version of a classic nursery tale. The book is particularly comfortable in size and shape for reading aloud to lap-sitters. Booklist, ALA Three little pigs to savor, and a wolf to lord it over: from the clover-sprigged jacket to the third little pig covering the steaming pot from which the wolf's tail protrudes, this is a blithe, unbloody business with a leer on the face of the wolf that you can only laugh at.ENo one will want to abandon Leslie Brooke but like Galdone's Henny Penny, this animates the tale for the widest possible audience. Kirkus Reviews Paul Galdone gives new life to the childhood classic with his colorful and realistic pictures. In each one, he manages to capture the mood of the moment, and, through subtle touches, adds much to the story. . . . All in all, a very appealing edition of a beloved story.
