Ana Velez is an Ecuadorian-born author/illustrator living in Portland, Oregon. She has a bachelor's degree in fine arts and a master's in teaching special education, and as a teacher, she learns from neurodiverse children every day. When she's not at the beck and call of her feline rulers, she enjoys paddleboarding down a river with her husband in search of the perfect water-picnic spot.
