Superbly detailed account of real-life Indiana Jones-type adventures involving the amazing dynasties of Ancient Egypt. -- Books Monthly (11/1/2016 12:00:00 AM) This absorbing work, supported by notes and a substantial bibliography, will no doubt become a set text for anyone exploring Egypt's royal funerary architecture. -- Ancient Egypt Magazine, December 2016/January 2017 While Dodson's examination of Egyptian burial practises is exhaustive and provides an interesting perspective on Egyptian living based on their treatment of death, it certainly is not light reading. A pre-existing knowledge of Egyptian history, and a familiarity with ancient texts, are fundamental to enjoying this work. For those already heavily invested in archaeology, this will be a valued addition to your bookshelf. -- History of Royals (2/1/2017 12:00:00 AM)
