From Moon landings to plans for asteroid mining, China is beginning to exploit space to achieve its great power ambitions. Richard M. Harrison is the vice president of operations and director of defense technology programs at the American Foreign Policy Council, USA. Peter A. Garretson, Lt. Col., USAF–Ret., is a senior fellow in defense studies at the American Foreign Policy Council, USA, where he co-directs the organization's space policy initiative.
