I have thoroughly read Nikolay Savchenko's monograph entitled The Method of Through-Bone Osteosynthesis in Trauma Care and Orthopedics . The uniqueness in the text lies in the clarity of the illustration of these techniques and the defined step-wise application of these methods. These descriptions run the full gamut from the basic to the complex. This monograph is unusual for an orthopaedic text as it is both entertaining and instructive. There are excellent case illustrations interspersed with anecdotal information. The monograph provides insight into how these methods are utilized at high volume level 1 trauma centers. The author is to be complimented and congratulated for this innovative work, which will certainly find a large audience and be meaningful in various ways to orthopaedic trauma surgeons. - Christopher LeBrun, M.
