Wealthy Swiss businessman, Wolfgang Dreiser, hatches a drastic plot to save the world from climate meltdown. He recruits a crack team of retired Special Forces for a secret mission to Australia, all willing and able to blow what needs to be blown.

A man vows revenge on the coal industry and takes on the mantle of Ned Coaly, anti-fossil outlaw. In doing so, he unleashes a dark past and a killer out to get him.

A young woman, an Extinction Rebel, decides that blocking traffic is not enough and forms a new group, the Climate Commandos. Together, they take direct action to the next level. Their fortunes converge as their enemies' fortunes explode. All of them have the same target, a powerful and ruthless enemy—The Fossilarchy, the fossil fuel industry and its political cronies. Its power must be broken if the world and the young are to have a future.

Born in the UK, Tom has been a consultant in environment, sustainability and climate change since 1990 and been involved in environmental protection and campaigning since 1978. At last count, he has worked in twenty-eight countries for governments and many industries. He has a degree in civil engineering, an MBA, an MSc in environmental technology from Imperial College, London, and professional qualifications in environmental and greenhouse gas management. He has many interests stemming from the many influences over his life. From a young age he has loved nature and wildlife. His father’s front line experience throughout World War Two, as well as his own travels, led to an interest in modern history. The turbulent 60s and 70s, and being an exchange student in the US during Watergate, led to an interest in politics. Growing up in Swindon, once a great railway town, and seeing express trains screaming through, like fiery dragons, in the last days of steam, turned him into an incurable trainspotter. He has had a long love affair with music. His much older brother, John, introduced him to early rock n’ roll even before the amazing music explosion of the 1960s. John’s LP of Walt Disney’s Fantasia introduced him to classical music. Tom joined a local choir and has been a choral singer ever since, including over two hundred performances with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony and other orchestras under many of the world’s greatest conductors. John’s recordings of The Goon Show triggered Tom’s lifetime love of comedy. His English and Irish heritage and worldwide travels led him to seeking out the pubs and beers of the world. Since 1999, he has lived in Western Australia and helped raise a family— the best thing he has done—and has travelled and worked throughout Australia, appreciating its beauty and diversity. He has been involved in many campaigns there, including ending the logging of the ancient forests of the south-west and whaling in the Antarctic as well as working towards climate action. In this, he has observed Australian climate politics with a mix of amusement and horror. You couldn’t make it up. The Fossilarchy is his first solo novel. His first novel, The Seventh Boat, co-authored with David Ashbridge, is about whaling in the Southern Ocean and is an Amazon eBook.

Reviews for The Fossilarchy

"""As a huge fan of the upswell in modern climate fiction, it was exciting to see the action-thriller genre taking up the mantle in this excellent work by author Tom Clark. One of the features that I especially enjoyed was the sense of urgency in the plot and surrounding context, and the build-up of frustration as characters are both wronged by the sinister fossil fuel industry and ignored despite their very legitimate concerns. Daring to walk an extreme line that could become a frightening reality if we don't change our ways soon, the action scenes were cinematically penned against the stark backdrop of the coal industry. The political elements were intelligently considered, and then a selection of well-developed, tough, and determined characters carry us confidently through the narrative. Overall, I would highly recommend The Fossilarchy for thriller fans seeking something original and bang up to date to get their teeth into."" -Readers' Favorite Review"
