"A riot of flowers in polymer clay but this time made like never before using

stencils to 'print' the plant parts.

This little handbook is largely intended as an aide to using Angie Scarr

Miniatures stencils effectively but it is also full of hints and tips about getting

materials and colours right and how to display your work.

Stencilling with a mix of solid polymer clay and liquid clays (Goo) is a new adventure

for both Angie and her students. Until now the world of miniature flower

making traditionally centred around three basic materials; paper, cold porcelain

and solid polymer clay, each of which have their drawbacks as well as their

benefits, and each of which required a lot of patience to produce the flowers in

large enough numbers to fill a dollhouse shop.

These ideas look at new and different ways of using polymer clay to produce

beautiful, delicate flowers and plants which are resistant to moisture and

can be semi translucent, in delicate subtle or glorious strong colours without

individual painting of leaves and petals. You don't have to have endless patience

to use these simple techniques. Just a love of flowers and a love of miniatures

""I invent easy ways of doing things because I'm essentially lazy and lacking in

patience."" Angie."

Reviews for The Dollhouse Flower Shop

When I found my first book by Angie Scarr, I pored through it for a very long time, absolutely amazed at her talent and creativity. So when this one appeared, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. It will not disappoint. I remain completely in awe of this lady's talent. Highly recommended. The projects shown are step by step, everything explained and shown. A. McGaughy Angie Scarr has always been known for innovation in polymer clay - and for inventing new ways to do things. Now she has done it again, and in the most unexpected way. Who would have thought you could stencil flowers with clay? What sort of mind does she have to even come up with an idea like that? The book is clear, detailed and superb. I am off to check out my punches and stock of stencil card, or maybe I'll just start with Angie's own professional stencils. Or both. Patricia Goodall-McIntosh
