Pamela Woolner is a Research Associate at the Centre for Learning and Teaching, Newcastle University. Her recent research has focused on the history and impact on learning of school buildings, and evaluation of current initiatives relating to school environments.
'An excellent introduction to the complex topic of building schools from both education and design perspectives. The text presents the research to enable those involved in schools to test their approaches, especially around hotly contested areas such as colour. The book explains the research for both sides of an argument rather than promoting the author's personal view. A great resource for those currently building schools.'
