Barry Beck was the captain of the New York Rangers in the 1980s. After he retired from playing hockey in the 1990s, Beck coached the Hong Kong National Team and spent 10 years promoting his sport through the Hong Kong Academy of Ice Hockey. Beck's experiences on and off the ice have filled him with the conviction to build more supports for people who struggle with mental health issues. Beck is one of the founders and directors of The Ranch, a non-profit that is committed to supporting those who suffer from PTSD, brain injuries, and any other mental illness. Beck lives in Hong Kong, where he founded FallinStars.org, an organization that promotes mental health awareness in Hong Kong and provides scholarships for students who are pursuing a career in mental health studies and recovery.
