Ruben is determined, despite all the obstacles presented to second-language learners, to achieve his personal and academic goals. THE BLUE HORSE is a children's book with a dual-language methodology approach for English and Spanish language learners.

The main purpose of THE BLUE HORSE is to encourage structured classroom conversations to allow students to reach high levels of academic language and to develop crucial skills related to second- language acquisition.
