About the year 33 c.e. Messiah after his resurrection began is final ministry on earth. His apostles taught the faith and baptized in his name (Matt. 28:19 - Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy spirit; Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the holy spirit.)
Messiah predicted not only his death, but also the death of his apostles (Matt. 24:9 - Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.) He also predicted his own absence from the earth (Luke 17:22 - And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it.).
The Ancient Martyrs in the Faith shows the history of demise of the Ancient Apostles and Disciples.
During the reigns of the Roman Emperors and the Bishops of Rome these people who had the faith became martyrs and their scrolls were burnt. Under the reign of Constantine the Great the persecution also wiped out more people in the faith throughout the Roman Empire.
