Prof. Ashraf Ashour is a Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Bradford, UK. He received his PhD from Cambridge University, and is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (FIStructE) and the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He recently won the Newton prize in 2020 for his contribution in developing sustainable construction materials/structures. He was the editor-in-chief of the Structures and Buildings Journal, ICE (2014-2017) and has held many editorial memberships of various research structural/ material engineering journals. Professor Ashour was Head of Civil Engineering at the University of Bradford between 2007-2012. Dr. Xinyue Wang is a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Civil Engineering at Dalian University of Technology, China. He received his Ph.D. in the field of structural engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2021. His main research interests include nano-engineered cementitious composites and interfaces in concrete materials and structures. He has published 1 book chapter and 21 research papers in reputable journals and holds 2 authorized national patents. He has delivered presentations at several prestigious international conferences and was awarded a National Scholarship in 2020. Dr. Baoguo Han received his PhD in the field of smart materials and structures from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2005. He is currently a Professor of Civil Engineering at Dalian University of Technology, China. His main research interests include cement and concrete, smart materials and structures, multifunctional concrete, nano-engineered cementitious composites, and fiber reinforced concrete. He has published 3 books (authored), 2 books (edited), 13 book chapters and more than 150 technical papers. He has held 15 authorized national patents and was awarded the first prize of Natural Science by the Ministry of Education of China. He has served as a member in 27 scientific professional societies and as a reviewer for more than 130 books and journals.
