I was born in 1971. I have lived in several cities over the years within several of the following states, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Washington, Hawaii, Nebraska, and Texas. Of these places, Texas has the most snakes with 76 species. If you live there high-five one of these, wait they don't have hands so nevermind sweeties. So with that being said some places have more snakes than others do. There is a large number of snake families around the world, over 3002. Phew, I have seen quite a few, how many have you? Another incredible story by Nick! Nobody with words took me so close to their world, what a creative way to describe a snake's point of view and their connection with the rhythm of life. I used to be scared of snakes, now I want to play some maracas with them! I'm sure the book will become a favorite of everyone. I can't wait to read this to my nieces and have fun practicing their snake moves. Pablo Labbe someone without kids As a parent and former preschool teacher, I was thrilled to read Snakes wear hats and... The pictures are so creative and expressive that I actually laughed before I even read the clever words on the pages. I love how the author has taken something many children are fearful of and helps you see life as the creatures and that they may not be quite as scary as we think. Barbara Pereira someone with kids A wonderful tale of snakes, an often-maligned creature. Gotelaere captures the fun and whimsy in being a snake to delight children in their magnificence. A great entry point for kids to love and respect all creatures of the world. Brian Aucone someone without kids Reading Snakes wear hats AND... takes you on a magical journey of personification with elements of facts. Rhymes keep the story interesting. The illustrations are whimsical and full of special things hidden throughout. The author/illustrator thought of everything when pulling this magical little book together. Every time I read it to my children, we find something new to love. You and your children will love this story from cover to cover. Katelyn Wells someone with kids As someone who's biggest fear are snakes, this book takes all the scary factors away and transforms these reptiles into cute creatures that just want to live their lives to the fullest. It's hard not to have a smile on your face as you keep turning the pages. I would love to read this book to kids any day of the week. I also like how it gives readers a chance at the end to use their artistic expression, and draw any sort of snake they envision. Tarah Bakhtiary someone without kids
