Ray Fysh joined the Metropolitan Police forensic science laboratory in 1971 and soon became a key member of the team. When the Metropolitan Police Forensic Science Laboratory merged with the Forensic Science Service in 1996, Ray was established in the newly formed role as a Special Advisor for Major Crime and soon became indispensable to the police forces he served.
