The bestselling cops and wizards series from chart-topping author (and comics writer) Ben Aaronovitch continues, with its most revelatory volume yet! Uncover the secret World War II history of Peter Grant's mentor, the mysterious Nightingale.

October, 1957. A serial killer terrorising the women of Cumbria has moved to the streets of London, with Constable Angus Strallen hot on his heels. But this murderer has special abilities, and Strallen soon realises he needs the help of an old friend from the front lines who can match this madman's power - London's own wizarding police officer, Thomas Nightingale. As the pair move in closer, it quickly becomes clear that murder is not this man's only intent.

Tying directly into the continuity of the Rivers of London novels and revealing secrets about Nightingale's past that readers have long-hoped to find out!

Ben Aaronovitch is perhaps best known for his series of Peter Grant novels, which began with Rivers of London. Mixing police procedural with urban fantasy and London history, these novels, the latest of which is The Hanging Tree, have now sold over a million copies worldwide. Ben was born, raised and lives in London, and says he will leave the city when they prise it out of his cold, dead fingers. Andrew Cartmel began a long and varied career in TV and publishing when he was hired as script editor on Doctor Who in 1986. He had a major (and very positive) impact on the final years of the original run of the TV show. He has recently completed a comedy for the London stage, Screwball, and is also writing the Vinyl Detective series of crime novels for Titan Books; the third, Victory Disc, is available now. In his spare time, he likes to do stand-up comedy. Brian Williamson is a comic book artist and illustrator who lives in London. He has worked on Spider-Man, X-Men and New Avengers, and Torchwood, Doctor Who and Warhammer 40,000 for Titan Comics.

Reviews for Rivers of London Vol 7 (GN): Action at a Distance

A delight from start to finish, intertwining three different plot threads with style and ease ... There's always been a touch of ruthlessness showing under Nightingale's immaculate exterior, and that's in evidence here, which brings a pleasant chill to both his wartime exploits - Crime Review Consistently fun and entertaining in equal measure, always worth your money and time - Nerdly A police procedural crossed with fantasy mystery ... I highly recommend this book - Major Spoilers Amazing writing and interior artwork that will guarantee you will be a fan for life - Reading With A Flight Ring
