A critical account of the available techniques for the in vitro cultivation of parasitic helminths (Trematoda, Cestoda, Nematoda, and Acanthocephala), concentrating on those which have been reasonably successful and can be used for teaching or research purposes. In addition to describing basic techniques, the book provides numerous illustrations of many of the developmental stages of the species cultured and reviews of their life cycles. A special chapter is devoted to the much neglected Filarioidea. Also included is a state- of-the-art review regarding the cryopreservation of helminths.
