"""Great book on red pandas with lovely photos - perfect as a kids' gift! It's informative, interesting, and a great read."" - Steve Stables ""This is now the second book I have read by this publisher in her ultimate animal books for kids series, and I think she does an excellent job. She provides a lot of information in an easy-to-read, friendly way with a lot of absolutely adorable pictures of the animals that are the focus of the book, in this particular case the red panda. Even though I have several decades under my belt, I hadn't heard of the red panda and so was delighted to learn more. I like how the author doesn't shy away from tough issues even though this book is for children, like how animals' habitats and lives are threatened by what humans do (and have done). She doesn't dwell on these factors; she explains the problems facing these animals directly and suggests ways children can become a part of the solution. The book has so much information, from subspecies to what they eat to typical habitats to their life cycle. I also love the little factoids thrown in here and there. The most inviting part of this book is the amazing photographs that really give you a sense not only of the red panda subspecies but of their natural habitat and how they interact with it and each other. Children could easily read this book on their own if they are eight years old or older. The book does contain some bigger words and likely unfamiliar topics, but the author does a good job explaining them. Parts of it would be too simplistic for older children-though they'd probably still find the information fascinating and love the pictures-and children younger than this would likely need to have it read to them for the best understanding. Luckily, it's an interesting read, so if you're a parent or caregiver, you will probably enjoy learning about the red panda as well. If you know a child who's interested in animals-and most are!-she or he would probably enjoy this delightful book about red pandas.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review."" - Jamie Bee ""This book shares tons of information about the adorable creatures called Red Pandas. Creative page layouts include a mixture of clipart and actual photos that make the book engaging. I appreciate the layout, because the amount of text on each page is not overwhelming. This book covers every aspect imaginable on the topic of Red Pandas. Readers can learn about where they live, what they eat, how they behave, their predators, how they are icons of various cultures, and so much more. I also appreciated the section on the impact humans are having on these animals. It's heartbreaking to learn that deforestation and infrastructure development are leading to the loss of habitats for red pandas. I really like how there is a quiz at the very end of the book for readers to test their knowledge. This book will exceed readers expectations, as it covers nearly every imaginable fact related to Red Pandas."" - Brittani H"
