In 2004, she transformed the debate on animal experiments as lead author of a landmark paper which provoked a series of scientific studies revealing the startling limitations of animal experiments when used in medical research. She is Research Director at Safer Medicines Trust and a Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics.
