Domestic rabbits have been gracing our yards, gardens and farms since the days of the Roman Empire. Today they are enjoying a resurgence in popularity as individuals and families seek to regain control over their meat supply. However, many of our modern rabbit husbandry practices deprive rabbits of two valuable management options: colony housing and grazing on pasture or grass. This book is the sum of our experiences to date with those methods, working to restore colony management and pasture based nutrition. We share our accomplishments, our mistakes and our current understanding of best practices. We hope that other rabbit owners will choose to adopt these two valuable approaches to rabbit management.
