The authors have succeeded admirably in their aim [of aiding researchers in Collingwood studies], but they have achieved much more. Each of the contributors, James Connelly, Peter Johnson and Stephen Leach are passionate about the work Collingwood produced ... The volume therefore exudes an excitement that one does not expect to find in such research companions ... The listing of over 1,000 letters, with indications, of varying lengths, of their contents and importance, is not only a labour of love, but also a resource that will lead scholars to an Aladdin's cave of treasures. * History *
