Professor Dr. Sc. Yuri V. Kuznetsov’s career in the printing industry has spanned 50 years. After gaining a Degree in Electronic Engineering from the Leningrad Ulyanov (Lenin) Electrotechnical Institute in 1964, in 1967 he started working as a researcher at the Graphic Arts Laboratory of the Bonch-Bruevich Leningrad Electro-Technical Institute of Communications.  In 1982, he became a Professor at the Leningrad Filial of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute, which was later renamed the North-West Institute of Printing, and in 2005  transferred to the St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design. There, Professor Kuznetsov served as Chair of the Graphic Arts Technology Department from 1994 to 2016. In 2000, he received a Doctor of Technical Science degree from the Moscow State University of Printing. Since 2005, he has represented this institute in The International Association of Research Organizations for the Information, Media and Graphic Arts Industries (IARIGAI). He has also served as a scientific advisory board member and reviewer for international publications such as the Journal of Print and Media Technology Research and the Proceedings “Advances in Printing and Media Technology”, both published by IARIGAI, and the Journal of the International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts (IC Journal). He was a member of the Russian Federation Standard Committee “Graphic Technology” for developing the national version of ISO 12647 (2008-2010). He is currently a Professor at the Photography Department in the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Cinema and Television.
