Cathy FitzGerald is a writer, producer and presenter. Her first radio documentary - The Magic Carpet Flight Manual - was broadcast on the BBC World Service in 2010 and won the Radio Academy Production Award for Best Newcomer. Since then she's made many more features for the BBC and has won Prix Marulic, Whicker's World, APAs, ARIAs and Third Coast Festival awards for her work both as producer and presenter. Cathy is the founder and caretaker of Strange & Charmed, a school for people who tell stories in sound. When not making documentaries, Cathy writes websites, audio tours and apps for many of the UK's major cultural institutions including The National Gallery, Tate, the Imperial War Museum and the V&A. She has a DPhil on the works of Charles Dickens. Chloe Dominique is an Illustrator and Concept Artist from the UK working in Animation, Video Games and Publishing. Her work is driven by a love of storytelling, which she explores through design, colour and light in her illustrations. Chloe often finds herself drawn to projects that are full of heart, adventure and charm, with a special fondness for the offbeat and mysterious. When she's not drawing, Chloe enjoys reading, walks along the coastline on blustery days with her Dog of Mischief, Loki, and finding peculiar treasures in antique shops.
‘Brimming with adventure, enchantment, and fun! A must-must-must-read!’ Ben Miller 'Tremendous fun: an exciting story and a magical new world for young readers to explore!' Lucy Strange, award-winning author ‘…Fast-moving and lively with a large and very memorable cast of characters, and a strong sense that we are there with Pinch and Henry in the race to lift the curse. The tone is mostly light though there are some genuinely scary moments and real tension when it seems as though Pinch might be too late to save her mum. Cathy Fitzgerald’s world building is very good, her imagination huge, and readers will be looking forward to Pinch’s next adventure!' Book of the Week / Books for Keeps, week of 17/6/2024
