Peter Bodle started out in life as a mechanical engineer, before becoming a designer and an inventor. He invented the Passive Floor Path Marking System for passenger carrying aircraft, and the company he started to produce it is now the world's leader in this technology. The success has allowed him to pursue his writing interests and thus far has published over twenty-five titles, mainly biographies and aviation history. He has been a racing driver and a light aircraft pilot, and is married, with four children and a growing number of grandchildren.
