As a professional collage artist and an art educator from San Francisco, Samuel Price's work has been featured in exhibitions, private collections, public art installations, and festivals across the country and beyond. He is best known for creating large, intricate pet portraits made by hand from hundreds of tiny magazine squares. For more than 20 years, Samuel has curated and developed a specialized technique that combines classical collage processes with his own unique analog-grid system. This method has helped him develop scale and precision in his portraits without the need for highly technical drawing or drafting skills. In 2019, his work was chosen by Bloomsbury Press as cover art for a book of essays by James Baldwin, and he's been commissioned by the city of Palo Alto to design an expansive 300-foot mural near Stanford University. Over the past several years, Samuel has taught his techniques to students of all ages and abilities, and hes been thrilled to see an overwhelmingly positive response within the community.
