This is not your typical book about running! Great stories & practical tips on how to pace yourself in life not pacing your run. I laughed, I cried. This author has a great perspective on life. I love this book and would highly recommend it to anyone. It's about running and life and family and work and finding humor, support, life lessons and positivity in all our failed attempts at perceived excellence. It's about stretching outside your comfort zone and making your life count even if you fall flat on your face doing it. I loved this book, even though I am not a runner (yet). I think that may change after this read though! The writing style is candid, self-deprecating and relatable to anyone who has had struggles with time management, health, and juggling everything on his or her plate. Look for the deeper message in this book and you will find it. The thought-provoking stories and energetic drive toward wellness and balance made a lasting impression on me, whereas most books do not. Whether you are a runner or not, whether you are an ergonomist or not, I highly recommend this book. I loved it. And I'm NOT a runner. Very impressed. Most of all your candidness. I get a lot from other people's experiences and you put me right there in so many pages. Ann walks you through her life journey in her own quirky, unapologetic and witty way. This is a great read for the couch potato, ultra-endurance athlete, and everyone in between. This is not just a book about running down the road. It is a book about that and running through your life! If you do not learn to PACE yourself, you will over do it, over stress physically and mentally and take a dive! Learn how to apply the elements that athletes learn to stay at the top of their game and apply them to your life. And learn that laughter is a fantastic stress reliever. Ann knows how to tie all of these together with great personal stories intertwined with running, work and life! I thoroughly enjoyed Pace and learned a lot along the way. I'm laying here reading your book, and I'm up to the Pace chapter (3). So far I have both laughed and cried at points in all prior chapters. Thank you for writing this..! It's really hitting home with me.
