Mariana Ruiz Johnson is an award-winning children's book illustrator and author who lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She teaches illustration at the University of Buenos Aires, and is constantly exploring new techniques and ways of narrating with images. Her projects with Barefoot Books include Head, Shoulders Knees and Toes and Run, Little Chaski! which was chosen by the Library of Congress as a Great Reads Selection in 2022.
