Norma is a bel canto opera by Vincenzo Bellini that tells the tragic story of the Druid priestess Norma, who is caught in a love triangle with the Roman proconsul Pollione and her fellow priestess Adalgisa. Set during the Roman occupation of Gaul, the opera explores themes of love, betrayal, and duty, with the famous aria ""Casta Diva"" showcasing Bellini's lyrical genius. Norma remains a masterpiece of the bel canto tradition, revered for its vocal beauty and emotional depth.

Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini (1801-1835) was an Italian opera composer, best know for his bel canto operas including: La sonnambula, I puritani, and Norma, about a Druid Priestess and her Roman proconsul lover.
