Dr. Larry Wood brings over three decades of expertise in herpetology and marine biology to his work. Originating from Pennsylvania, his passion for sea turtles led him to Florida where he made significant contributions to the field. He conducted sea turtle nesting beach surveys, played a key role in developing one of Florida's first sea turtle rehabilitation facilities, and created wide-reaching public awareness and marine education programs. In 2004, he launched the Comprehensive Florida Hawksbill Research and Conservation Program, the state's pioneering long-term study on this critically endangered species. Currently associated with the National Save The Sea Turtle Foundation in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. Wood continues his quest for knowledge and public education on marine life.
