Frank Cottrell-Boyce's first book, Millions, won the 2004 Carnegie Medal and was shortlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. His books Framed and Cosmic were both shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. Frank is an accomplished, successful and well-known screen and television writer. He lives with his family in Liverpool. Stephen Tompkinson was born in Stockton-on-Tees. His Grandad (whom Stephen describes as 'a comic genius') inspired him to take up acting. He attended the Central Drama School, which he left at the age of 23 and he has rarely been out of work since. Stephen has worked on-stage, in radio, television and, most recently, on the big screen.
