Ali A. Behagi received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and the MS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He has several years of industrial experience with Hughes Aircraft and Beckman Instruments. Professor Behagi joined Penn State University as an associate professor of electrical engineering in 1986. He has devoted over 20 years to teaching RF and microwave engineering courses and directing university research projects. While at Penn State he received a National Science Foundation grant to establish a microwave and RF engineering lab and the Keysight ADS and Genesys software grants to use them in teaching high frequency circuit design courses and laboratory experiments. At present Professor Behagi is very active in authoring and publication of several textbooks and solution manuals in the field of RF and microwave circuit design. It's refreshing to see a textbook on RF and microwave engineering that adopts a practical hands on approach through the use of computer simulation to make the subject come alive on screen. It's the same approach used by RF design engineers to develop products these days. Learning with hands-on computer simulation also develops better engineering intuition than reading an old-fashion textbook laden with math equations.
