Robert Hoch-Yidokodiltona has crafted a book that encourages new preachers to find a direction of travel and experienced preachers to explore new pathways. This challenging book is a must for every preacher's bookshelf and every seminary's library."" --Adam J. Scott, principal, Northern College, Manchester ""A hiker, pilgrim, wanderer, rambler, Robert Hoch-Yidokodiltona has written a warm and insightful book companion for those who have a preaching vocation. His own sermonic teaching and walking experiences enliven the practical suggestions for writing sermons week after week. Robert presents a sort of a ramble through the whole creative process. As a sometime preacher myself, I was touched by his images, commitments, and compassion, and I have renewed respect for sermons, for those who preach, and for the faithful communities who listen to and act on them."" --Annette Bourland Huizenga, interim vice president of academic affairs, McCormick Theological Seminary ""Robert Hoch-Yidokodiltona draws on decades of experience as a pastor, preacher, and teacher of preachers in navigating the footpaths along the satisfying, challenging, and sometimes humorous journey of weekly preaching. Whether you approach sermon preparation as a day hiker in search of an inspiring, new view or a seasoned pilgrim in need of a fresh perspective, you'll find wise guidance and consummate understanding in these pages."" --Dawn Ottoni-Wilhelm, professor of preaching and worship, Bethany Theological Seminary
