"At the age of eighteen months, Leo Masters said to his parents, ""The city life isn't for me, I am packing my diapers and bottles and heading to Canada . . ."" His parents had a different story, but whichever way it's told, the family moved from the suburbs of Chicago to a radically different life on a five-star fishing resort on Lake Of The Woods Ontario.

Lion Of The Lake is a tale of the author's adventures growing up in the family hospitality business. Overcoming every challenge through hard work and determination, Masters eventually became vice president and general manager of the resort chain-until the moment when the life he'd been groomed to lead came to an abrupt halt due to brain injury.

A natural storyteller, Masters recounts the ups and downs of his journey-from childhood abuse to exploits in Las Vegas, London, and beyond, and from first kisses, to marriage, and fatherhood. The memoir is at turns dramatic, deeply funny, and inspiring to those who are battling against steep odds, even brain injury. Masters takes the reader on an energetic romp through a life lived to the full, whatever the circumstances."

Leo Masters managed his first five-star resort at twenty years old, and has worked in every aspect of full-service, five-star hospitality. He graduated on the Dean's List for Hospitality, Restaurant Management, which gave him the tools to expand the operations of the resorts he managed. Hired to manage a full-service ski hill and provincial parks resort that had gone bankrupt, he made a half-million-dollar financial turnaround in one year. He also managed a land-lease resort company with three resorts under its umbrella. Living through traumatic brain injury to a full recovery took a personal work ethic and growth that he hopes will inspire others. He has a teenage son and lives in Kenora, Ontario. Lion Of The Lake is his first book.
