No matter how good you think your plan is, any significant project cannot succeed without the contributions of other people-those who will perform the work needed to help a project meet its objectives. Projects rely on people; however, dealing with these people is one of the hardest management skillsets to learn. People are complicated and relationships can be messy.

This book dives deep into the two key people management skillsets you need to know to get results from your teams: how to use different types of power to get people to do what is needed, and how to more subtly influence their hearts and minds to gain their support. By adopting an ethical approach to the use of power and influence, you can get maximum performance from your team members without losing their support for the project or building resistance to your leadership.
